Killiney Kopitiam at KL Convebtion Centre

Came here with my colleague the other day.
Just a few steps from Fuel Shack, was interested in seeing what they have to offer à la-Singapore.

Range of food was kinda mehh.. just normal kopitiam style.

Breakfast & Toast Sets

Light Snacks

Main Course Meals

Kaya Toast (RM3.00)

Nasi Lemak with Killiney Fried Chicken (RM9.90)

Sadly, food was a let down.
The toast was alright, but I would definitely prefer the one from Old Town White Coffee instead.
The chicken was too greasy, which left an uneasy feeling in my throat after the meal.

The coffee was mediocre at best, which is bad coming from an avid coffee drinker.
Doubtful I will be back to this scene.

KFC & Ayamas at Wisma KFC

Snacking at Wisma KFC.
Recently Ayamas outlet at Wisma KFC has introduced free frying service for their list of preserved food.

Considering their large selections, I've been very tempted to buy a bagful for snacking purposes.

The first time I came with Mrs, I bought a packet of Popcorn Chicken (RM8.50ish).
Turns out popcorn chicken wasn't enough so I came back for Fried Chicken Drummets (RM15.99) as below.

A bagful of drummets net me 2 plastic box-ful of drummets... see below :)

KFC & Ayamas beside each other

My 2 boxes of portable sore throat (definitely worth it)

This is really bad for health, but gosh so good to snack on :)

Decided to have Burger for lunch....something diff la once in awhile!

Theres this burger-ish kinda shop at KL Convention Centre... FUEL SHACK!
Me & Mrs been here before & the burgers here are kinda nice.. definitely better than the norm McDonald burger type la..

They only have 6 types of burger...
and around 81,264 different bubble tea flavours (slightly exaggerated)

the Menu.
Mrs has the Lamb Deluxe

while i enjoyed my Chicken Shack

Well..to enjoy a different palate once in awhile, burgers are..okay :P
Do try their bubble teas, they have so many different types.. though last I went they were out of "pearls".

Vespa Pizza at Life Centre KL

EDIT: CLOSED & replaced with La Boca (also from Urban Bar Concept)

This is Me & Mrs favourite paste outlet.
I've a constant crazy for pasta - which good pasta unfortunately plays out to be very scarce in KLCC area.

We've been here alot of time, and I've never ceased to have their Carbonara, though i'll love to try out the bolognese as well.

They have set menus for breakcast, lunch & also delivery via Vespa (cute).

Lunch Promo (RM15 mix & match)

Breakfast Set (sorry for the blur picture)

Mr Boss!

My absolute favourite - Beef Carbonara (RM15)

Cappuchino (RM9 - Buy 1 Free 1)
exception of lunch time 12-3

I'm sure i'll return soon, love this cute lil outlet.

Madam Kwan's KLCC

Madam Kwan is undoubtedly the most popular dining restaurant in KLCC.
Constantly filled with patrons and queues during peak period, I've decided to give their KLCC outlet a try.

Me & Mrs entered just before dinner peak and easily got a table
Floor wasn't cleaned properly as I could see leftover cucumber.. definitely a letdown at get-go.

Nevertheless, we were quickly served with the menu when suddenly the waitress dropped a plate.
Albeit the high pitch, patrons were only disturbed for a moment - nothing to fret about.

Upon deciding what we wanted to eat, I signaled the waiter over to take our orders.
To my shock & utter disbelieve, he wrote our orders on a piece of tissue paper... is the economy hitting Malaysia so bad that such restaurants need to retort to this?

Forgive my utter disappointment in the services rendered, lets jump unto the food.
I ordered my oh-so-common Coffee & Ice Kacang to share with Mrs.

For me, Ipoh Hor Fun Soup
& Mrs had Char Kway Teow

Local Coffee (coffee was't really strong)

Ice Kacang

Ipoh Hor Fun Soup (RM 14.90)

Char Kway Teow (RM17.90)

I din't exactly fancy my Ipoh Hor Fun soup.. was slightly plain & actually preferred the Ipoh Hor Fun stall in Signature Food Court.
Mrs enjoyed her Char Kuey Teow & even commented it taste better than the one from Little Penang KLCC, though I would only fancy authentic Char Kuey Teow with chinese sausages :)

EDIT 1:
Came back with Mrs as had a sudden craving of fried noodles - ended up having Fried Kuey Teow (as usual) and their Cantonese Fried Noodles (Sang Mee). Waiters now takes order with a PDA instead of writting on tissue paper again. Yay?

Their Char Kuey teow remains a great dish

Came back for Cantonese Fried Sang Mee

Old Town White Coffee (KLCC)

I'm always seen strolling into coffee with my regular cup of Old Town White Coffee.
I absolutely love their Toasted Bread with Kaya & Butter (RM3.90) & their Hazelnut Freezy (RM8.90)

Do note however their Freezy (iceblended) selections tends to be not properly blended leaving a huge chunk of ice in the middle.

Anway todays post is not so much on my daily snacks but the food they have to offer as well.

Ginger Chicken with Coffee Set (RM 14.90)

The Old Town White Coffee in KLCC is just a kiosk instead of an actual cafe.
This means dishes are not actually cooked here, as above its in a prepacked bowl.

The chicken is extremely tender and to my taste, however the heavy downside is the rice..
Because its prepacked and steamed, the rice lumps together.. definitely a thumb down!

Would not recommend lunch here, but definitely the place to visit if you like Coffee & Toast

Spazzio Bar & Cafe

Lunch at Spazzio Bar & Cafe @ KL City Walk.
A stone's throw away from KLCC, this tiny strip of pedestrian street mall.

They have a lunch promotion (RM16) as below; Me & Mrs had the same dish though

Fish & Chips

Mixed Salad

There was only one other group of foreigners dining here.
Service was great, believe they changed the songs playing to suit Mrs genre.

TGiF at Menara Hap Seng

Had dinner at TGiF with Mrs.
Mrs enjoyed mushroom soup from TGIF, which i'm adamant they added black pepper to it to her disagreement.. We shall find out one day!

I had my pasta (crazed about good pasta) whilst Mrs had her Fish & Rice!
We had some cooling drinks as we had a long walk to Menara Hap Seng

Chicken & Shrimp Diablo (RM29.90)

Key West White Fish (RM31.90)

I had Slush & Mrs had her strawberry (as usual....)

Overall there wasn't much of a crowd.. food arrived rather quickly.
Service was up to par and the ambience & food was satisfying!
Slightly far from KLCC, but plays out well as a hidden trove of restaurants..
